The snow covered mountains of Scotland provide an ideal
subject for Scottish Landscape Photography and Glen Etive
and Glen Coe have an abundance of magnificent Highland
scenery to photograph.
Glen Etive runs south from Glen Coe for twelve miles
and the road ends at the head of Loch Etive. Surrounded
by mountains on both sides it is a pleasant road to cycle,
you are rewarded with a great view down the loch to Ben
Cruachan an ideal spot for a picnic.
This photograph is taken looking north to Glen Coe and
the Lairig Gartain splits the Buachaille Etive Beag and
the Buachaille Etive Mor. A fine walk over this pass takes
you to Glen Coe near Altnafeadh and Lagangarbh.
There are many walks in and around Glen Coe which can
be done without being an expert climber. Walk and scramble
up into the Lost Valley of Glen Coe, one of my favourite
spots in Scotland. The ruggedness of the surrounding mountains
gives way to a lush green valley which is so unexpected
in it's calmness and serenity the image of it will live
with you forever.
