I hope you have enjoyed these Photographs of Scotland
and it will encourage you to come and visit Scotland ,
remember the camera for the wonderful photographs of her
landscape . I hope you will also return to the site to
see more Photographs of Scotland and Scottish Landscape
Photography, as I add more images to the gallery. Hopefully
the photographs have helped you know Scotland a little
bit better.
I described my feelings for this image in the copy accompanying
the first photograph in the Gallery, I wish I had pipe
music on the site to accompany these two photographs,
can you imagine that each time they were clicked, you
would hear the inspirational and haunting strains of the
theme music from 'Braveheart' or the pipes and drums playing
the magnificent slow air of 'Highland Cathedral' because
in a way, as I sit and watch the shafts of light break
through the dark skies and dance over the Castle and Monument,
and the clouds lift from the slopes of Dumyat and Ben
Cleuch,, I feel this is a Cathedral, , one filled with
the history and majesty of a beautiful country and a resting
place fit for heroes.
These famous Scottish icons dominate Scotland's newest
City. In March of 2002 Stirling became the country's sixth
City, a well deserved title for the town at the very heart
of Scotland.
Stirling , meaning 'place of strife' sits at the lowest
crossing point of the River Forth, a strategic position
which played a large part in the development of the town
and why it had such a dominating effect on the history
of Scotland.
The names of Wallace and Bruce are intertwined with the
town as of course is Mary Queen Of Scots, Bonnie Prince
Charlie and John Knox who preached at the Church Of The
Holy Rude and as you walk through the streets at the top
of the town to the Castle, it is easy to imagine them
beside you.
The new City offers much more than history for the visitor,
an ideal base for touring the Trossachs, wonderful walks
in the Ochil Hills and plenty to do for the younger members
of the family.
HASTE YE BACK
