The Scottish Landscape is shown in the Photographs of
Scotland and in particular this photograph of the Stack
Of Glencoul, which sits at the head of Loch Beag and Loch
Glencoul and lies amidst the rugged West Coast landscape
near the villages of Kylesku and Unapool. This great area
is a magnet for photographers painters, fishermen, bird
watchers and walkers. Heading north across the bridge
at Kylesku the road takes you on to Scourie where you
can find a boat for the sea bird sanctuary of Handa. Moving
northwards to Rhiconich take a left for Kinlochbervie,
follow the road as far as it goes, park the car and enjoy
a walk to one of the best beaches to be found in the British
Isles, at Sandwood Bay . The Landscape of Scotland inspires
not only photographers, but for generations has inspired
those who capture the landscape with paint, brush and
easel.
Back to Rhiconich, continue north and you soon run out
of road, at Durness, a quick trip to Cape Wrath and you
are standing at the most North Westerly point of Scotland.
I cannot explain in words the beauty of this area, but
as the site is added to and updated, I am sure when you
see the photographs you will agree it is stunning.
