The scenery in this south westerly part of Scotland is of a calmer nature than that found further north, but it has one thing in common with the north west and that's its beaches. Towns and villages like Portpatrick and Port Logan are well worth a visit. The lighthouse at the Mull is also a must for the visitor, stand here and on a clear day you can see England, the Isle of Man and the coast if Ireland and you can climb to its top.
